Friends and Family for Center

GETTING TO KNOW US

WE are not even a month old yet and we are twenty four members strong. Thank you for you support, I could not have done it with out the support and concern for Center Church.

I would like to take the time to tell you about myself. My name is Ann Lilleoien-Ridl. I have lived in the McVille area most of my life, only being transplanted as a big city dweller for two years to seek employment other than milking cows. But being raised on the farm, that is where my true passion begins.

My second passion is the Center Church, as some of you may know, I am not a very vocal person, but I do believe in the church and the people who made it the tower of faith and

strength it is today.

My husband Ron has adapted to my will of saving Center. I say adapted because he came from the Catholic Church in Fargo. Unlike me, he had never heard of Center or the plight of saving Center. Ron was in the United States Navy for four years, then started his life as a student. He currently is enrolled in Lake Region State in Devils Lake.

Friends And Family for Center is a

non-profit organization designed for the good of Center Church. We believe we can pull together and help save the church from falling away to the way side. It would mean a lot to so many of us to be able to see this wonderful building and be able to say that we had a part in the future of the building. I never realized how much passion there is for saving Center Church until now. It is amazing on what can be accomplished when you believe.

Banning together for what we believe in

With the last meeting that was called, we joined with Preservation North Dakota and the Cemetery Association board as well as many people from the area who have legitimate concerns on what should be done with the church and what we are about. Preservation North Dakota was an asset to the evening with their experience and advocacy about saving historical buildings such as

I hope we addressed your concerns you may have. It is a long road and I know it will take some time, but something needs to be done now before the condition gets worse. With the passion we share, I hope we will be able to see some progress for the church soon, before it is to late.

Thank you also for becoming members in Friends And Family For Center. Together we can accomplish so much. Give yourselves a pat on the back, for together we can do this.

We do have a bank account open on the Lakota State Bank in which on can leave donations. The account is in the name of Friends and Family for Center.

We are waiting for state permit for solicitations so I will not formerly ask for donations. This is just a way to let everyone know we are serious about saving Center Church.

We have available for members some photos of the church that were taken by Dale Bently. We have them on our computer and will print them out for the cost of paper. The quality is quite nice. We can print two photos per page, one on each side or two small pictures on the same side as well as one photo per page. The cost is $2.00 per page to cover cost of printer ink and paper.
