Volume 1 Issue 2 MARCH 3, 2002 |
SECOND ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING |
|
On March 3, 2002, we held the second meeting for preserving Center Church. Attendants at the meeting were Harold and Clarine Ruud, Daniel Ruud, Helen, Tiffany, and Allen Smaage, Burton and Grace Sateren, Sidney and Beulah Burkland, Selmer and Joyce Severson, Ann Lilleoien-Ridl, and Ron Ridl.
It was decided by all members that the name of the group shall be Friends and Family for Center. Nominations were held for the members of the board. Ann Lilleoien-Ridl was nominated President, Ron Ridl was nominated Vice-president, and Allen Smaage was nominated Treasurer/ secretary. The decision was also made to become a local affiliate of the Preservation North Dakota. |

Ann Lilleoien-Ridl will also become the Registered Agent of Friends and Family for Center. This position involves the receiving of all mail from the state and notifying all members of final decisions.
It was decided that the general purpose of the non profit group is the welfare of the church. There is concern for the basement walls and the cracking. Several ideas have been formed on how to control the buckling of the walls, it should be looked at in |
the future by a professional on the best solution. People would also like to see some Sunday services there every year, and that would work wonderfully. It would be a great accomplishment to have some services there. There will be an account started in Lakota for donations for the church and the Friends and Family for Center organization. There will also be a post office box in McVille for the organization.

HISTORICAL NOMINATION AND LANDMARK ISSUE |
| I am looking for any historical photos and histories of Center, if anyone has anything they can add, it would be welcomed and appreciated. I would like to see an arrangement of the history of Center somewhere in the church so everyone who visits can see the determination and preservation process through the years. I would be nice to have the book of confirmads
|
back in the church where it belongs. If anyone knows what happened to it please let me know. The nomination process for landmark ability is going smoothly, a lot of research is going into the project. Hopefully it will be submitted by next week. Thank you all who have contributed information for this project.
